Why does FordPass say “authorization required”?

This message usually appears when the vehicle hasn’t been fully connected to the app, ownership hasn’t been confirmed, or the modem needs activation. It can also appear if the vehicle battery is low or recently disconnected. Completing the in-vehicle authorization steps typically resolves the issue.
